Rustic Luxury in the Barrens

Your Basecamp for a NWT Barrenland Adventure

Experience the best of the Northwest Territories at Peterson’s Point Lake Lodge, where remote wilderness meets comfort. Our five guest cabins serve as the perfect basecamp for those seeking a comfortable place to relax after a day of world-class trophy fishing or exploring the tundra.

Our accommodations are designed to provide a “surprising luxury” experience in an off-grid, sustainable setting. Whether you are staying in one of our cabins or suites, you’ll find comfortable beds topped off with handmade quilts, as the northern lights dance above the barrens.

Every cabin features:

  • Panoramic Views: Shared, enclosed porches offering stunning panoramic views of Point Lake, an ideal spot for wildlife viewing and socializing with fellow adventurers.
  • Essential Comforts: Heaters, electrical outlets, furnishings, including vanities, and ample storage for your outdoor gear.
  • Authentic Hospitality: As a family-run lodge, we pride ourselves on personalized service. Whether you need a room divider for added privacy, expert advice on fishing tackle, or a fresh thermos of hot water, we are here to make your stay extra special.

Explore the features of our individual cabins and suites below. Please note that private toilets are available in the majority of our accommodations. As we continue to upgrade our facilities, some suites (like the Ptarmigan Suite) offer a comfortable, classic experience while awaiting their modern retrofit.

The room includes a comfortable grey armchair, a small work desk, dresser, a luggage rack, and large windows with patterned curtains, creating a bright and inviting atmosphere.
Interior of cabin suite featuring wood-paneled walls. The room includes a queen sized bed and a twin bed, both with blue and brown plaid bedding. A small wooden desk with a chair, a water cooler, and a dresser complete the space, illuminated by warm bedside lighting.
Willow Cabin – Ptarmigan Suite
This Ptarmigan Suite is scheduled for a renovation to match the rustic luxury of our other cabins. Currently it remains a comfortable option for guests who prefer private accommodation when our other cabins and suites are fully booked. Located adjacent to the lodge’s culinary creator, guests often enjoy ‘kitchen perks’ for those that stay here. The suite is reached via a shared wrap around enclosed porch, a perfect place to enjoy your morning coffee.
