Whether you’re intrigued by legends, science or the visual display of the aurora borealis, our location provides the best place to see the Northern Lights

Revered as the best place to view the northern nights, enjoy a 3-night stay at Peterson’s Point Lake Lodge, where you can further your aurora-watching possibilities away from city lights while being immersed in the beauty of the barrens in autumn.

A photo lead will accompany you on this adventure to guide and assist, should you want to photo-shoot the aurora and learn about the science behind nature’s light show. Guided daily excursions, either hiking and/or boating are available. You’ll be sure to enjoy this awe-inspiring land to sky experience on this adventure. Only two available dates.

All rates are USD per person and based on double occupancy. Single guests can sign up to fish with another angler and/or share a room with another person of the same gender at the regular rate. If a single guest prefers to have a private room, this option is available pending lodge capacity and space. What’s Included

▪  Accommodations: 1 night accommodation in Yellowknife at our partner hotel (Sep 6) and 3 nights at Peterson’s Point Lake Lodge (Sep 7, 8, 9)

▪  Flights & Shuttle Services: Scenic return float plane charter from Yellowknife to the lodge, plus all personalized shuttles between the airport, hotel, and float base.

▪  Aurora Viewing: Three nights of viewing with our Aurora Watch Service (a dedicated team member monitors the sky at various periods throughout the night and will wake you when the aurora is out) and guidance from one of our Aurora Photo Leaders.

▪  Lodge Meals: Three delicious, home-cooked meals per day (lodge dining, packed lunches, or traditional shore lunches).

▪  Guided Daily Excursions: each day we offer guided adventures (from the lodge or via boating excursion) searching for caribou and other wildlife while venturing to scenic vantage points.

The Extras & Lodge Gear:
▪  Celebratory breakfast (Sep 7): enjoy a light picnic with bannock, homemade preserves, cheese, fruit and orange juice to kick off your trip. Served at the float base on the shore of Great Slave Lake.
▪  Lodge Gear: Use of rubber boots and life jackets
▪  Fishing Equipment: We have lodge fishing rods and reels available for your use.

What’s Not Included

▪  Taxes: 5% GST. (Note: The 4% Yellowknife Accommodation Tax is included for your first night; however, it applies to any additional Yellowknife accommodation room nights).

▪  Yellowknife Expenses: Meals in Yellowknife and any hotel stays beyond the included first night.

▪  Insurance & Safety: Travel/Cancellation insurance and emergency medical evacuation coverage (highly recommended).

▪  Beverages & Gratuities: Specialty beverages and staff gratuities.

▪  Contingencies: Any expenses incurred due to delays caused by inclement weather, mechanical issues, or other reasons beyond our control.

▪  Fishing Licenses: Licenses can be purchased [online here] or at our lodge tackle and gift shop. If you choose to purchase yours online in advance, please let us know!

Trip planning

Yellowknife Accommodations: While your first night is included in the we are happy to arrange additional hotel room nights for an before or after your lodge stay. Benefit from our preferred partner rates at the Chateau Nova. We’ll handle the booking and plan to meet you at the airport on your arrival so you don’t need to worry about how to get from the airport to the hotel. If you’re looking for a more “Old Town” vibe for your additional nights, we can arrange a stay in these fully outfitted quaint cabins, closer to the Great Slave Lake.

Yellowknife Tours: If you choose to arrive early, or stay after the your aurora experience at Peterson’s Point Lake Lodge, we are pleased to assist in arrange local tours with our most trusted local partners. Tours options include: Yellowknife City Tours; Northern Lights Viewing; Nature/hiking Tours and Fishing on Great Slave Lake with shore lunch option.
